SIGNATURE EVENTS & COMMUNITY INITIATIVES

YAYA’S SERIES

The Yaya’s Series is a curated collection of live experiences created to honor the eras, spaces, and creative traditions that have shaped Black American culture and the arts. Each installment nods to a specific moment in our cultural timeline, preserving the sounds, stories, and environments that continue to influence how we gather, create, and celebrate today.

More than events, the series is a way of holding on to the recipes. The music, the movement, the storytelling, and the sense of community that have long lived in juke joints, salons, dance floors, and neighborhood stages. These experiences are rooted in remembrance while remaining vibrant, present, and alive.

Through concepts like Yaya’s Amateur Night, Yaya’s Juke Joint, Yaya’s Muse, and Yaya’s House O’ Funk, the series creates space for performance, reflection, and joy to exist in ways that feel intentional, immersive, and culturally grounded. Each gathering centers atmosphere and connection, allowing artistry to be experienced not just as entertainment, but as shared history passed from one generation to the next.

Every Yaya’s experience is designed to feel intimate, expressive, and deeply connected to the cultural environments that inspired it, honoring where we have been while making room for what comes next.

THE BLUEPRINT AWARDS

The Blueprint Awards is an annual celebration that honors women whose leadership, service, creativity, and commitment strengthen community and inspire others. What began as a performance series celebrating artistic expression has grown into a signature experience that pairs curated artistic moments with meaningful recognition, creating space to uplift women making lasting impact.

Each year, a panel of past honorees selects a new class based on demonstrated community impact, consistency of service, and leadership rooted in service and accountability. The event brings together live performances across artistic modes, formal recognition of honorees, and opportunities for connection and celebration.
