About Book Black Women, Inc.

Book Black Women Inc, founded by Ayana Washington, is a North Carolina based organization that focuses on uplifting black women!

Our goal is to make spaces for a marginalized group to present their art in creative ways and for the art to be embraced by the community!

On this journey, we have cultivated longstanding partnerships with integral community institutions and we hope to continue making connections to further our reach and positively impact our community!


MISSION

To uplift Black Women and expose communities to culturally significant entertainment, education, and experiences. 

Founder and CEO

Ayana Washington, a multifaceted creative, was born in Fayetteville NC. She is a seasoned entertainer and has performed in many theatrical productions. When she is not on stage she fosters connections with various artistic communities, serves on several committees, and curates culturally significant community events through her business, Book Black Women Inc. Washington has held the role of director at Gilbert Theater, Costume Designer at Cape Fear Regional Theatre, Broadway World’s 2020 Vocalist of the Decade, and Creative Director and Producer for original productions and contracted productions. Every endeavor adds fuel to the ‘Stay and Play in Fay’ fire and she is determined to continue fanning the flame!
