Committee Roles and Responsibilities
For over 14 years, The Fayetteville Observer has honored the achievements of emerging leaders in our community with 40 Under 40, a program founded by Sharon Moyer. In 2024, The Fayetteville Observer entrusted Ayana Washington, a member of the 2024 Class, with the continued leadership of the program. With their support and Sharon’s mentorship, Ayana is building on the program’s legacy while introducing new ideas. The Fayetteville Observer remains a key partner, amplifying the program’s reach and impact.
A key change is the formation of a rotating committee of alumni and community leaders, giving more alumni the opportunity to help shape the program each year.
Committee Selection Process
For the inaugural year, committee members will be selected by the Creative Director, Ayana Washington, with input from Sharon Moyer and a nod of approval from The Fayetteville Observer.
